During your stay
Study at UPF School of Engineering

The Mobility Office (OMA) has a dedicated page with detailed information on your stay (subjects, calendar, enrolment, exams, grading, and transcripts). You'll find here a summary with the details applicable to our School.

Subjects

The large majority of our courses are taught in English, and we strongly recommend that incoming students have a B2 level of English. Each subject has a teaching guide that specifies the instruction language (some subjects are taught in Catalan or Spanish), term of instruction (there are three terms at UPF) and number of ECTS credits.

Browse the teaching guides for the subjects on offer to incoming exchange students: the ICT degrees share a subject pool of 65 subjects; Biomedical Engineering has its own curriculum, with 19 subjects. Internships, Degree Final Projects and Master's subjects are not offered to incoming students.

Calendar and schedules

Instruction activities at UPF follow the yearly academic calendar: 2025/26 · 2026/27. The calendar specifies the instruction days and the exam days. The School publishes the degree term calendar and the exam dates on its website. You can also compose your own weekly schedule with the schedule planner, where you can search subjects by name or code across all UPF faculties.

Course structure and enrolment

At the School, each subject has a combination of theory, labs (practice) and seminar groups. The typical numbering used for the groups is T1 for Theory, P101, P102, ... for labs, and S101, S102, ... for seminar groups. You will be assigned a group at enrolment.

Enrolment is managed centrally by the Mobility Office. The School of Engineering will do their best to give you a place in the courses you are interested in, but we cannot guarantee it. We also reserve the right to cancel a course if there's not enough demand.

Exams and transcripts

We have one exam call at the end of term and one resit call in July (regardless of the term of instruction). Resit exams are only allowed if you have participated in the course during the term and failed the term exam. All exams must be taken at UPF; remote exams are not possible. Your Transcript of Records will be issued by the Mobility Office (OMA) at the end of your stay, once all final grades have been recorded.
